009 [Action/Video]
[Another routine training session at the Battle Dome. Karla finishes another battle with the advanced bandits programming that Ginia had taught her. However, it's only after the battle is finished when her own exhaustion seems to hit her like a freight train. Her entire body aches, and a tightening sensation in her chest. She hadn't noticed it during the battle, and she's certainly never felt this bad after one. In fact, she actually decides to quit her training session early.]
[She staggers out of the simulation room on her way out, then pauses, coughing violently.]
[Video]
[Karla's definitely sick; she's sure of it now. She's put her physical activity on hold, but the urge to battle still rages within her. And worse, indulging in battle is not the ultimate answer.]
[Still coughing as she opens her journal, she waits for a lull before speaking, her voice hoarse and weak.]
...Has anyone ever had a hunger for battle that you just can't quench? What do you do to keep it from consuming you?

As he comes down the hall, heading for the exit, he notices Karla crouched over and coughing. Concerned, he approaches.]
Hey. Are you feeling alright?
action;
No...I feel...terrible...
[Her voice comes out as more of a squeaky breath, and then she bends over, allowing herself a coughing fit to try to clear out her lungs.]
action;
[She really didn't look to be in any shape to walk there on her own.]
action;
Yes...that...would be helpful...
[Another gasp to draw air without coughing.]

[She lets him position and support her, letting out a hacking cough before she takes that first step.]
Okay...
action;
Are you in pain at all?
action;
[She could feel it all over her body, that dull ache that seems to weigh her down.]
action;
[He could feel her wearing down as each cough raked through her body. But luckily he could see the clinic just up ahead. A few minutes and a burst of speed later finds them slipping through the door.]
We need some assistance over here. She's very ill.

You don't look so hot.
video
[Assuming the word "hot" meant "good" in this context.]
I might have been pushing too hard...or it could just be the winter...I don't know...
[Written]
What is it about battle you like so much?
[Written]
I don't like battle...I'm just drawn to it. It's in my blood...
[Written]
Also have you been to the clinic? You look pretty bad.
[Written]
Training someone? I don’t know...I hadn’t thought about it. If anything...the more I fight, the more I crave it. But I don’t want to be like that...
[And she can’t just quit cold turkey either. She’s just stuck between a rock and a hard place...]
The clinic? I haven’t been there...what can they do?
[Written]
The clinic is a place with doctors that can help you if you're hurt. There's on the village and one in the Battle Dome. You should stop by one of them, that cough sounds pretty bad.
[Written]
[Except brother-searching, but can that really be a hobby?]
[As for the clinic?]
Perhaps I should...but I don't think I have the energy to go anywhere...

[Hopefully she won't be too dead asleep when Ginia arrives...]
[Action]
[Action]
Hello...
[The word comes out as a rasp as she lets out another rough cough.]
[Action]
Is there anything you want to take with you to the clinic? You might be there for awhile.
Action]
Okay...I'm ready.
[Action]
[Action]
[Karla lets out another coughing fit before leaning on Ginia for support, not wanting to cough right on her and pass on whatever she’s got. Then carefully, she begins to walk with the other woman.]
[Action]
Unfortunately, Ginia isn't much of a conversationalist.]
[Action]
[Action]
You'll be safe here, the doctors will be able to figure out what's wrong. You'll be able to rest here too.
[Action]
[The words barely come above a whisper. Karla has one more coughing fit as she sits, leaning back against the chair. She closes her eyes, already beginning to fall asleep as she waits for one of the clinic staff to arrive.]
[Action] /thread tracks :D
Please come in right away. [She'll help support Karla as they bring her into the office, and there should be a bed free once they're finished...]
[Action]
Exhaustion from over-training, I think, but she has a bad cough.
[Action]
[Regardless, once they set her down, Ami gets to witness Karla's bad cough for herself. And then she lays there, her body aching and feeling like a dead weight.]
[Action]
Please tell me your symptoms. [After all, the patient knows her own body best. She'll start from hearing Karla's own version of what's happening and what this illness might be.]
[Action]
[Action]
I...I can't seem to stop coughing...I feel so...tired and weak...
[She slowly reaches up to feel her forehead. She can't really tell if she's running a fever.]
[Action]
Starting with the question of temperature.]
Let's see if there's a fever first. [She has her thermometer handy, and allows Karla to take it and hold it in her mouth.]
When did your symptoms begin?
[Action]
[She takes the thermometer and holds it in her mouth.]
[Action]
Do you often become fatigued during exercise? Was there any shortness of breath?
[Action]
[Hardly ever, really. The thermometer beeps, and Karla pulls it out, glancing at it curiously. The readout is 101.3.]
[Action]
That's a relief, your fever isn't too high. Have you had a normal appetite?
[Action]
[Action]
[Action]
[In hindsight, she realizes she felt a little more tired than usual, and her coughing was minimal before her training session. Only during the session itself is when the symptoms hit her at full force.]
[Action]
Well, I don't think you need to worry too much for the time being. Just get some rest, make sure to drink plenty of liquids, and if the fever worsens, please come right away. I'll give you medicine for that, and for the cough, too.
[Action]
[It was hard enough to get here even with Ginia's help. She doesn't really want to try going anywhere again now...]
