008 [Action/Video]
[Karla finishes yet another boring bandit attack simulation in the Battle Dome and exits the room with an exasperated sigh. She needs something more. While she could join others in whatever scenarios they do, she really doesn't want to impose on anyone. She would need to create her own training sessions. And so, she picks up her journal.]
...Is there anyone who can teach me how to create more challenging Battle Dome simulations? What I know is very little, and not nearly enough.
[There might be a hint of frustration in her usual serene demeanor.]
[And she will be at the Battle Dome for anyone who wishes to answer in person.]

[She hasn't thought about what she wanted to learn. Just...whatever she could learn.]
Perhaps...how to make opponents tougher...or faster? Or different kinds of opponents? Or, anything, really...

[And Karla is there in the main room, just pacing about. She glances as the other woman approaches.]
Ah...hello. Are you the one who offered to teach me about the Battle Dome?
[Action]
That's correct. I'm Ginia.
[Action]
[And now she's ready to begin.]
[Action]
I find the easiest way to create a place is to start with a premade environment and then begin adding things in. Let's begin with a simple field.
[Ginia gives Karla ample time to read the message before she presses the menu for premade environment. She pulls up a plain field, then presses another button to pull up the list of modifications. She'll find some general bandits and throw a few of them in there.]
Once you've put your opponents in the field, you can press each one individually to change their stats.
[She selects one bandit, which opens up a small menu with sliders for things like "size" or "difficulty" and buttons to add additional weapons or armor.]
[Action]
Wow...
[Action]
Is all of this making sense?
[Action]
[She takes another moment to study the menu.]
Yes. So this menu will have different kinds of opponents as well?
[Action]
She'll step aside to let Karla explore the menu.]
[Action]
[Karla steps in to explore, positively awed by the whole thing.]
Oh my...
[She adds some heavily armored knights with spears into the field, then slides up the difficulty...nah, that’s too much. She lowers the difficulty again...then decides that she’s not in the mood for knights right now.]
Um...is there a way to remove things from the field?
[Action]
[Action]
Ohh...
[She presses the button, deleting the knights. She adds a few more bandits with axes, then cranks up their speed and intelligence a bit.]
Hmm...I think that should do it for now.
[Action]
Do you want me to go in and observe and assist as needed or would you prefer to go in alone?
[Action]
[She doubts that she'll need assistance, but she won't be as overconfident as most of the opponents who underestimated her.]
[Action]
[Action]
[Karla nods and steps into the newly created field. The bandits stand in front of her with small hatchets, rather than the huge axes. The bandits themselves are built, but not overly muscular. Perfect. That means they'll be relying more on speed than brute strength.]
[Karla draws her sword and steps forward, glancing at each of them as they approaches. Finally, one moves in to attack with a fierce swing of his hatchet, followed by another, and then another. Karla dodges the blows easily, attempting to counter with her own attacks. Her sword strokes come fast, almost like a whip, her sword almost invisible in motion. Despite that, the bandits manage to dodge.]
[The battle continues, Karla dodging and countering seamlessly, as though it were a dance. Eventually, her strokes connect, knocking out each opponent with a single stroke. When all bandits are defeated, Karla sheaths her sword and takes a deep breath. She glances at Ginia, a satisfied look on her face.]
[Action]
When the battle ends, Ginia smiles at Karla and applauds. Well done.]
[Action]
[Now that the battle is finished, Karla walks over to Ginia again, smiling.]
Thanks for teaching me how to program these simulations. I shall certainly make good use of it.
[Action]
You're welcome. If you have any other questions, let me know.
By the way, you're a very good fighter.
[Action]
Thank you. They consider me one of the best in Elibe.
[Action]
[Action]
Well...
[How long has it been? Since she'd left and started her search for Karel, it feels like an eternity has passed.]
It's been some years...but after I started my journey, I lost track of time.
[Action]
[Action]
Twenty...?
[Thinking again. She was in her late teens, but she's sure some years have passed.]
Twenty...something? Early twenties?
[Action]
You're an excellent fighter. Maybe it serve you well.
[Action]
...I suppose it does, sometimes.
[Such as when people attack her. But that’s the only use it has.]
[Action]
A windy field with geysers? And what are solar beams?
[She's even thinking about the swinging on vines part. That sounds a little too much, even for her. But perhaps she'll consider it one day, if she feels up to the challenge.]
I could help you with the simulation programming, if you'd like.
[The more she can learn, the better.]
Shall I meet you at the Battle Dome then?
[And there she will be, waiting patiently.]
Re: [Video]
I think it will be sort of fun to work on this together.
